Mennonite Radio Programs

Beginning in January 2017, we will be airing the following programs under the Mennonite Radio service:

Mennonite Radio in Oklahoma

This is a 15 minute monthly show that will air on the first Friday of each month at 11 a.m. CST on Community Talk Radio 890 am in Oklahoma City (which can be heard through much of Oklahoma, including the OKC metro area, Lawton, Enid and more), as well as on FM repeater K279CR on 103.7 FM (where it can be heard in the Northern and Central parts of the OKC metro).

For this program, we will be sharing news and events from our sponsoring congregation, Joy Mennonite Church of Oklahoma City, as well as providing short thought-provoking and often inspirational messages from the members of our congregation.

It would be great to expand this program to be weekly but our congregation can only afford a monthly broadcast at this time. Donations to expand this broadcast would of course be welcome and can be sent to: Joy Mennonite Church, 504 NE 16th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73104, USA. Checks should be made out to Joy Mennonite Church, but please put "Mennonite Radio" in the memo line. Donations made for this would be tax-deductible to the extent allowed under US law.

Mennonite Radio Worldwide

This is a 30 minute monthly show that will air on the first Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m. CST (00:30 UTC Friday) on international Shortwave Radio Station WBCQ, located in Monticello, Maine, USA at 7490 khz.

Shortwave radio is of course a variable thing depending on the conditions in the upper levels of atmosphere (where radio waves can either bounce back to earth, be absorbed or keep going into outer space), but reception in the Eastern parts of North America, Central America and the Carribbean are normally possible, with reception in Western Europe, South America and beyond sometimes possible.

We also hope to air some programs on International Shortwave Radio Station Channel 292 (located in Rohrbach, Bavaria, Germany), 6070 khz, which can be heard throughout Western and Eastern Europe, Central Asia, North Africa, the Middle East and beyond. However, our ability to do this will be contingent on fundraising.

Mennonite Radio Bonus Programs

All of our shows that are broadcast OTA (over-the-air) can be downloaded on our website, but we also will providing some online-only programs which can be listened to online via our podcast and other partners. In time some of these programs may also be aired OTA as finances permit.
